Aloha for now Maui!

First of all THANK YOU NATHAN AND JENNA, you are such amazing friends . The way that you opened your home and your entire lives to us was so great!
Maui was amazing, honestly it was more than I could have anticipated! I’m sure the next few posts will be me showing photos. John and I spent a lot of time hiking, exploring, swimming and eating some super good food.
The flight there was fine (by John’s standards), I thought it was a rough ride, but we did get there alive, so that was good! :o) Jenna picked us up from the airport and showed us around N. Kehei. Such a cool town, a great combo of local and tourists!
Tuesday we went to this little bay about 25 minutes from Nathan and Jenna’s house, we walked through lava fields. The professional photos are ones Jenna did for us the Saturday before we came home. She is an amazing photographer, we had so much fun! www.jennastrubharphotography.com
On Wednesday we went snorkeling to Molikini Bay and Turtle Town. There aren’t many photos because I was scared of dropping my camera in the water. Molikini Bay was ok, there weren’t a ton of fish, but there were a ton of people. However on the way there we saw a whale, we got a few photos of it and a video (I’ll try to post that later). The super cool part was when we went to Turtle Town we saw 4 HUGE turtles and John followed one for like 25 minutes just swam with is and followed and watched, you can’t touch or go too close to the turtles or it is a crime! We didn’t want John in jail in Hawaii, that’d be a bummer!!! :o) Below are a few photos of that trip, if you look close you can see the whale tale.
Then on Thursday we got up early and headed up to the Road to Hana, there are 617 switchbacks and something like 57 one way bridges! Neither of us threw up on the ride there or back…pretty amazing! It is an amazing ride with a ton of amazing views. We were up and moving before sunrise and home just at sunset, the photos are awesome!
Saturday we spent the whole day with Nathan and Jenna at the beach, and Sunday, our last full day in Maui we got tattoos. It wouldn’t be a complete trip with out a tattoo! So we hop you enjoy the photos of our trip, videos will soon follow!!
Thanks again Nathan and Jenna, we love you guys so much!
